Then
It looks like it was yesterday when you were born and became the most important person in my world. I remember my excitement when you call me mom for the first time and when you took your first steps at the age of one. I saw you growing right in front of my eyes and becoming with each passing year a more independent little man. I learn to be a mom with you and filled my heart with hopes and dreams for your future.

My baby at 6 weeks old!
Now
Seeing you becoming a young man has made me super proud of you and everything you have accomplished. I loved hearing you play the trumpet and how talented as an artist you are. I see myself reflected on you when you share words of positiveness and wisdom with your friends in times they needed most. You have been my rock in times of hardship and together we survived Domestic Violence. I can’t express with words, how much I love you my son and how proud I am to see you grow into a wonderful human being.

My young man at 13 yr old.

He will always be my baby
As parents we don’t come with a book of instructions on how to achieve a successful relationship with our kids and teenagers, that’s why I’m glad these resources are available through the Center for Parent and Teen Communication. I invite you to read this wonderful post about how to connect with your teenager http://bit.ly/2xJgzay
